Lifesavers: Shower Magic

Just another tip to save you time, money and some frustrations!

Oh man. I am in love!

As you can tell, I am loving Pinterest for all of these useful tips!  And today is no different!

I have tried everything to get my bathtub and surround clean.
My husband is a mechanic so our shower always seems to be yucky. And I can't stand it with two little boys, and a furry boy (our golden retriever) it seems like our tub was doomed.  I had tried everything: straight up Ajax or Comet ( the powder bleach stuff), Sprays, even steaming it.

And NOTHING made it easy to clean.

But then I found this recipe!

Now- I used Palmolive, and then ran low (my spray bottle wouldn't work) so I made a second batch with cheap dish soap, and that worked too! I did a 1 part vinegar to 1.5 parts dishsoap when I used the cheap stuff.

And you literally spray it on and wipe it off. No waiting to let it "soak in" or "work"! It just works!  I will never buy anything to clean my bathroom again! I'm even using it to clean the toilet!

Here's some proof!
(did you think I was going to show you actual tub photos? Oh no. They were bad before! I was scared the would break my camera!)
This "stain" had been on the edge of our tub where we have assumed there were glass doors with the previous owner and they have never faded before. But after a couple times spraying it with this vinegar/soap mixture it's starting to fade!  Unreal!

  1. I switched over to vinegar/dawn/water awhile back and will never use harsh chemicals again. When something is extra grimey, I just sprinkle on some baking soda as an abrasive and everything comes sparkling clean. Added bonuses:
    1) I can let the 3 year old help me clean
    2) No bad fumes
    3) If I miss a spot rinsing the tub, my boys' tushies won't fry off when they take a bath.

There really isn't anything you can't clean with this mixture. I picked up some pleasant smelling soap making scent in the clearance aisle of the craft store and put a few drops of that in too so our cleaner has a distinct smell that says "I cleaned today."

    1. I completely forgot you emailed and told me this! But I never asked the proportions! It's amazing! And I agree I about the boys bums in the tub! You feel so much safer about it!
