As I've mentioned before, our house is pretty old. We bought it from a widowed elderly woman, who when we bought the house had her family sell it for her. So every now and again we find weird things.
Not super weird, but but random.
Like when we turned a porch into a pantry, we found the original skeleton key in the wall!
And now we cleaned the basement out ( finally) and went through boxes and boxes of random metal pots and pans and I found these beauties.
Well almost beauties.
And cleaning them up was so easy!
I placed them in a plastic bag with baking soda, put them in the sink and poured in some vinegar!
Let it bubble up, when it stopped I added more vinegar ( I had dry baking soda in the bottom of the bag still) Then rinsed.
I barely touched the rusty silverware!
Perfect, polished silver!
Now the question is: What can I do with one silver fork and one silver spoon?
Have you done any fun things with silverware?
Please leave a link in the comments I would love some inspiration!
Make a windchime!
ReplyDeleteI thought about it, but I would have to gather some more!
DeleteI think they might be cute in a shadowbox for the dining room or kitchen.
ReplyDeleteOh and I totally have to remember this if I come across fun stuff at the thrift store that may need a bit of cleaning!
