Review & Giveaway: Icon Wall Sticker

Recently, I got the urge to do some updating around the house.
After being here for 7 years (Yikes! It's been that long) I realized that my home didn't really feel like us. Some rooms were still white from the previous owner, others just not 100% finished.  

When I was contacted by Icon Wall Stickers to do a review, it was a very quick yes!

Just what I needed to put my updating to work!  

After scouring their site, and I mean spending hours on there, I picked the perfect wall sticker. 

I even let the hubs help pick it out! We agreed that we loved all the different trees they had to offer, and in the end I let him pick which tree, and I picked the color.

Isn't it great? I loved it before I even put it on the wall!
I painted my walls Holmes Cream by Valspar, and the decal is pure white and really pops!
I decided to tuck a small (maybe 1/2") behind my couch so that it looks taller!

When I was ready to apply my sticker to the wall, I read the directions and asked my mom for help.

I knew because of the size of the decal (45" x 45") a second pair of hands was needed. 

Applying the decal was a little tricky, and it took a while. But the end result is worth it.

This was my first time applying any kind of vinyl or decal on any surface, 

and I am pleased with the results. There were some bubbles, so I took my hairdryer ( like the directions stated) to smooth them out. I also tore it in some spots (the super skinny branches), but from afar you cannot tell. 

I would recommend Icon Wall Stickers to anyone looking for a way to update their walls!

They have many designs to choose from, different sayings, styles and looks. 

Another reason to recommend, is their customer service!

My representative from the company was wonderful! She advised me to let my paint cure a couple weeks before I put the decal on. I am so happy I let her know I was going to paint my living room first, or else my sticker may not have stuck!

The hardest part about working with these fabrics, was what to make out of them!

Seeing as they are a sturdier, home decor fabric I decided to be a little selfish and make myself a purse!

I  used Artsy Craftsy Babe's Pleated Tote pattern (free!)  

The only things I changed on the tote was I expanded the center ( where you line it up on the fold) by an inch. I like my bags big! Which made the pleats change a little bit too! I still did them, just lined them up a little different.

The fabric was a dream to work with, it's always nice working with quality materials! 

Because this was the first time (in a while) I made a lined bag, I had some ripping out to do. And because the fabric is sturdy, and of good quality it didn't ruin the fabric when I ripped the seams out! There was some fraying of the edges after ripping out a few times, but that is to be expected. 

 I loved working with this fabric! So much so, I am already in the works with what to make with the rest of it! Check out their projects too.
