Prepping...

I'm not sure if I have told you here on the blog, or just over on Facebook.  But I am teaching a crochet class at my local library.  So over the past few days, I have been creating a "syllabus" and I am using that term lightly to help organize the class.  Here is one of the first things I plan on working with my group.

I'm calling them swatches, small dishcloths, coasters, test pieces or whatever you would like. This is so that the student can get familiar with a stitch and complete something without being overwhelmed.

This is cotton yarn worked with a H hook.  The top left is single crochet, top right is half double crochet, bottom left double crochet, and bottom right is a granny square.

  1. How fun is that? I'd love to get to the point of teaching people....people who aren't my friends who I'm forcing into knitting with me :-)

  2. I'm so impressed! I don't think I have the patience to teach others how to crochet! But what a cool thing! And such a great idea to have them work in small 'easy' squares! Good luck!
