Updates: Pin it Button over images!

Have you noticed the Pinterest update here on the blog?

You know, the one where when you hover over an image it gives you the Pin It option?

Well, I can't take all the credit.
Blogger Sentral had a super easy "tutorial", I don't know if I should even call it that!
Because it was as easy as copy and pasting!

I love when small changes make a huge impact!

Blogger Sentral advises you to paste the code after the </body> tag in your html.
I searched and didn't have that so I put it here:

Hope that helps if you don't have a </body> tag either!!
If you look at my code, I just put it after my <body tag. Then opened my blog in another window, to check to see if it worked, and it did! So, I kept it there. If it hadn't I would have moved it and tried somewhere else!

Be honest, love it or hate it?

Cd Labels

After seeing these cute labels for cds (  at Chronicle Books) , I thought my chicken scratched labels were a little lame...

I downloaded their free valentines labels, and used them as a starting point!  In photoshop, I traced the outline so that I had a plain cd label.  Then I added the text that I wanted! Printed these out two per page ( thats all that would fit) and using a glue stick I glued them down.  I tried the spray mount like Chronicle books mentioned, but ruined one of the backs of my disk.  And that's it!

Now, all my cd's are going to be a little better than what they were... I'm in the process of converting all my vhs tapes to dvd...

I'm in the process of converting all my vhs tapes to dvd...  Thats why there are so many chicken scratch covered dvd's laying around my house lately!

Need a Reason to quilt?

After going through all my usual blog spots, I stopped over at JennyGarland.com and read this beautiful post about a little girl, Kate,  who is only five and is suffering from cancer.  Jenny, a wonderful mother to two girls, and an avid crafter wanted to do something. So, she is making three quilts for this little girl and her family, and Jenny wants our help! Read about it here : A Quilt for Kate McRae.

I know I am working with two of my friends and we will be sending them out this week! Jenny would like all the blocks by April 1st if your interested in being a part of this...

A little Late in the game...

So, I may be the last person in the world to figure this out... But I finally figured out how to email videos! Normally I would go to upload a video and it would say "Error: File too large" Ugh. So disappointing. Well today was the day that I finally figured it out!  As a mac user, I have iMovie and I finally did it! I compressed my file so that I can email it to a friend. Yay!

I followed these directions, which could not have been easier... Hope my friends do not mind that I will be flooding their inboxes with cute videos from now on!

Just keep swimming...

As Dori says "Just keep swimming, Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep swimming...."  And that is just what I am doing today, working on my ocean theme party... Found some great things at the dollar store today. Can't wait to pull it all together next weekend!  And then I can share everything then!  But for now, can I share: Coolest Birthday Cakes?  My lovely sister will be creating our ocean theme cake for me ( she is a much better baker than I) and she showed me some samples from here, some people are so talented especially these with frosting!  Me. Not so much.

Three Column Blog Help

After trying and trying, I finally found a good site that correctly walked me through the steps to create a three column blog instead of the standard two column!  If you too would like a Three Column Template, try using the instructions found here!

Once I figured out how to get the three columns, I went in and played with the numbers to get my center as wide as I wanted, and still have the two side columns.

An AWESOME Giveaway...

Wouldn't you love to have a clean, new sparkly blog? Without all the work? Well it could happen to you! Go on over to Designer Blogs and enter to win a blog makeover!

Ribbons, Ribbons Everywhere!

When I was pregnant last year, so were a couple friends, and I got into the "tag" blanket craze. And what do you need to make them, Ribbons! And lots of different shapes and sizes... So I purchased a couple bags ( at Joann's for $1!) that had different lengths, colors, textures all in one bag, perfect for my project... Well then I had a ton of ribbon and a big old mess.

So I scoured the internet and came across this beautiful studio, and started to do the same thing with the close pins. And just threw them into a big old bucket... Thinking I would never have enough to sort into individual containers...

Well, here it is over a year later and I was reminded over on Little Birdie Secrets about Nichole's ribbon jars, and as I have been revamping my craft space decided to finally fix the ribbon issue!

Now, I didn't have enough to sort last year, but this year was a totally different story. And the sad part is I do not remember buying all this ribbon.. Oops.

So, for now, I have each color sorted into their own bag. So I now know if I see 10 canisters big enough to fit a gallon bag in it, its big enough for my current collection of ribbon... See?
